Session 7: Facing Death

In this session, we approach death from a humanist perspective, drawing on philosophical, scientific, and psychological insights. We explore questions such as: What is death? Why do we perceive it as good or bad? Is immortality truly a worthwhile aspiration? And how can accepting life’s finitude lead to a deeper, richer, and more conscious way of living? Along the way, we will consider the perspectives of thinkers like Lucretius, Epicurus, Bertrand Russell, Julian Baggini, as well as analyses from contemporary philosophers.
