This course will enable participants to develop an understanding of public health in relation to human rights, as well as the ability to apply a human rights-based approach to the development of public health programs. The course will focus in particular on health issues that expressly affect Iranian society, primarily the nexus between drug addiction, HIV/AIDS, prostitution, and human trafficking. The course will also cover international standards for human rights and health, and the socio/political/economic determinants of public health.
