Human rights lawyers have a duty to defend their clients skillfully. This is not possible without mental, spiritual, and physical health. Consequently, the duty of self-care is at the core of the responsibility to skillfully defend a client; if this important issue is neglected, it will harm both the lawyer and the client.
In this session, we will focus on the situation and conditions of defense lawyers themselves, and how and why they should mind their wellness.
