This course is designed to introduce learners to the core concepts of atheism, non-belief, agnosticism, and humanism. It explores the complexities of how these terms are used in everyday language and aims to offer clear, accessible explanations of the beliefs and worldviews held by atheists, agnostics, and humanists.
Throughout the course, participants will examine a range of themes, including different forms of atheism, the distinction between atheism and agnosticism, secular morality, the foundations of secular humanism, individual rights, community-building among non-believers, discrimination and minority solidarity, understanding religious perspectives, critical thinking, rational dialogue, the role of science in ethics, the humanist view of meaning, and approaches to mortality.
