This course will provide an overview of the most relevant environmental protection issues for Iran, including air pollution, deforestation and desertification, and water shortages and pollution, their causes and potential public policy and civil society solutions. The course will also cover issues of liability; Iranian environmental law and international environmental agreements; methods of effectively advocating for environmental protection; volunteerism, community service and citizen action for protection of the environment; and the concept of good governance in relation to the environment.
