In the first session of the course “Democracy in the Classroom,” we will explore the history of education in the world and Iran, examining where and under what circumstances it began. Taught by Saeed Peyvandi, a sociologist and university professor, this course focuses on non-traditional education for kindergarten through fifth grade. It aims to assist Iranian teachers in fostering critical thinking, creative/free expression, and liberal values, with a special emphasis on students with disabilities. Teachers will benefit from key resources developed by the Tavaana Institute.
