In this session, Alireza Rezaei discusses uploading and publishing amateur home-produced videos. He highlights the differences between uploading videos on “YouTube” and “Facebook” and points out the advantages of each one over the other. He then notes methods of making videos easier for viewers, especially Iranian audiences, to watch and share, such as reducing the video length and size and subtitling videos. The session concludes by examining audio recording and publishing as a tool for news dissemination and activism on social media. Rezaei introduces “SoundCloud” and discusses the advantages that podcasts and audio files hold over videos.
